*This is the heart mantra of the Great Buddha-Crown Śūraṁgama Mantra, also called the White Umbrella Dhāraṇī, in the Śūraṁgama Sūtra. It can purify one’s karma of body, voice, and mind; expunge grave or slight sins; enhance one’s spiritual training; subjugate demons and their evil incantations; eliminate catastrophes; bring favorable conditions.
